About the opportunity

UI/Creative Designers operate within our WaveSpace studio environments, working with Agile teams to take a client from business insight, to concept, to code in a compressed timeframe as well as working within our client project teams to execute Agile sprints to deliver world’s best digital processes, products and platforms over various timescales. Through the use of Design Thinking and User Centred Design practices that include information architecture, visual design, interaction design, research, and prototyping our Designers drive our lean product development approach and produce interactive solutions that deliver business objectives in a useful, usable and engaging manner.

Regardless of the project and the environment, our Designers provide a strong and critical voice for users and good design; owning the user interface and business outcomes stemming from design-led product development in EY. Accordingly, our Designers need to leverage solid experience in Design/Human-Centred Design with a high degree of commercial acumen to develop detailed mock-ups, screen flows, clickable prototypes, style guides and final design assets while working within tight business deadlines, to deliver real business results.

Key Responsibilities:

UI/Creative Designers both facilitate and participate in workshops, working directly with our Digital Consultants, scrum team peers, clients and their customers/users to understand end-user needs, contribute to the UX design, and then translate these and UI concept into fully formed designs for digital-native processes, products, platforms and experiences.

Once concepts are formed and agrees, Designers play a hands-on role in EY’s Agile product development teams owning the design and testing of the product and overall user experience.

In addition to direct client work, our UI/Creative Designers contribute to pre-sales of our digital consulting services work by helping our Digital Consultants tell our story through proposals and supporting materials across various media.

As a member to a new and fledgling Digital Practice, this role will have a voice in both the direction of the team, and in the formation of the EY Design Community. As such, you will help deliver a single set of design practices, approaches, tools skills to support the development of a digitally enabled organisation.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience with a consulting or internal design team, creating and assessing digital assets for effectiveness in visual design (both usability and accessibility), content, and branding

  • Passion about human-centric design, from user research straight through to prototyping

  • Tendency to add flare to everything that you do & imagining how you could spice things up in everything that you see

  • Believe that employees are people and the employee experience should be everything a consumer experience should be.

  • Proud of your craft and have a portfolio to show us with examples across web, tablet, mobile and wearables from sectors including Retail, Banking and Financial Services, and Life Sciences

  • Desire to work with a new team to drive Design Thinking and the value of Human-Centred Design into everything we do at EY
