The Learning and Development Practitioner is an entry level role in the Learning and Development job family. They take responsibility for learning and development initiatives at a local level or in a low complexity environment. These individuals take their instructions from a more senior Learning and Development employee or from a Human Resources Business Partner

The primary responsibility of the Learning and Development Practitioner is to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to co-ordinate and facilitate the delivery of learning and development initiatives across their client base.

They strive towards the overall creation of a learning culture and drive the relevance, awareness and adoption of the Dimension Data University (DDU) across key target audiences.

They assist with the activities involved in the full training cycle, including needs assessment, development and/or outsourcing of training programmes, delivery of training programmes and evaluation of the effectiveness of training.

What you'll be doing

In this position you will be required to:

  1. Conduct a Learning Needs Analysis and assist with the development of strategies to ensure that these needs are met.

  2. Manage and continuously improve DDU programmes and content and define and develop customised programmes based on the needs identified.

  3. Schedule and co-ordinate learning interventions in line with annual training targets and/or needs and ensure the accuracy of the information on the learning portal.

  4. Conduct and facilitate lower to middle level complexity programmes applying and implementing the best learning tools and methodologies.

  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of the learning interventions and incorporate the findings in the redesign of the programmes.

  6. Draft management information reports on learning and development initiatives and on the progress made in relation to the annual training targets.

  7. Adopt and actively promote the DDU functionality of all Learning and Development initiatives, technologies and systems.
