Description:

  • Participatein the preparation of the annual departmental operatingbudget and financial plans.Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energymanagement,preventative maintenance, andcapital planning.

  • Lead hotel renovations andother projects, negotiate contracts, andensure timely completionof projectswithin budget.

  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements,plan and assign work, and establish performance anddevelopment goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching andregular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.

  • Educate and train all team membersin compliance with federal, state and local laws and safetyregulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the toolsand equipment to carry out job duties.

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment forguests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.Maintain relations with outside contacts including guests,regulatory agencies, others as needed.

  • Understand and respond to customer’s needsand ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance programon guest rooms and public area to ensure facility is maintained andin service for our guests.

  • Maintain and order parts and supplies in atimely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining“green” initiatives.

  • Lead the hotel Green Engage program.

  • May be responsible for hotel security to minimizerisk of theft, crime and other hazards.

  • Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies andprocedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and withinOH&S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same

  • Be aware of duty of care and adhere tooccupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures

  • Be familiar with property safety, first aidand fire and emergency procedures and enforce these in your areas

  • Initiate action to correct a hazardoussituation and notify supervisors of potential dangers

  • Ensure security incidents and accidents arelogged, investigated and rectified to prevent future catastrophes

  • Ensure hotel complies with all IHG BrandSafety Standards, and stringent measures are in place.

  • Lead the FLS and Risk Management hoteltrainings, projects and initiatives

Qualifications

Some college or advanced vocational training

plus four years of experience

in general building maintenance

and/or construction or equivalent

combination of education and

experience. Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical,

mechanical, and carpentry fields.

Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman

status for electrician and

carpenter may be required.

Hotel experience preferred. Strong relationship with local vendors and

contractors. Professional certification

and license if required by

law.
