Electrical & Automation Engineer

Description

Primary Role – Electrical & Automation

  • Troubleshoot and Repair a variety of complex electrical equipment that controls processing and high-speed packaging equipment.

  • Must be able to fault find and repair both high voltage (415V) and low voltage (24V) equipment such as Rockwell PLCs and field instruments such as RTDs, pressure transmitters etc.

  • High degree of familiarity with PLC based systems.

  • Responsible for executing Preventative, Predictive and Condition Based maintenance activities.

  • Responsible for performing PM’s and work orders as well as project work.

  • Disassemble and assemble electrical equipment.

  • Participates in the development of maintenance programs.

  • Must be able to repair and install various equipment, guards and piping using lifting devices if required.

  • Disassembly, diagnosis, repairs and re-assembly of machinery to hygienic and sanitary standards.

  • Complete all necessary reports and documentation via hardcopy and computer.

  • Actively participate in the resolution and elimination of downtime issues.

  • Assist in the creation of SOP’s, checklist, and work instructions

  • Complete all necessary transactions, reports and documentation with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Execute all duties faithfully and responsibly in accordance to written procedures and to immediately report all observations of GMP non-conformances.

  • Responsible for ensuring that EHS is a core value and integrated into the business and operations.

  • Follow all GMP requirements to ensure proper manufacturing environment.

  • Provide coverage and resource backup to fellow Technicians and Engineers.

  • Be able to use independent judgment and work well within a team environment.

  • Administration of third party service providers.

Secondary Role – Maintenance Planning

  • Administration of the SAP CMMS to achieve all maintenance objectives.

  • Administration of third party service providers.

  • Ensures that maintenance process is compliant from a Regulatory standpoint. This includes MOM (GMP's), EHS (OHSA, EPA, etc.) and MJN policies, procedures, and Global Design Standards.

  • Participates in the development of a Preventative and Predictive Maintenance program.

  • Complete all necessary reports and documentation.

  • Facilitates a clean and sanitary environment in accordance to all safety and GMP policies via maintenance planning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in related field of study such as Automation or electrical engineering.

  • At least 5 years industrial in Electrical & Automation plus maintenance planning experience. Previous experience in a food or pharma manufacturing environment.

  • Previous experience and knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance technologies. Experience in working with service providers.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC & Wonderware System application.

  • Experience with SAP and CMMS preferred.
