RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Mainly responsible for product development works for infant and children nutrition products (including but not limited to revising base powder formulations).
Make use of internal and external technical resources, conduct experiments and testing, perform technical assessment, implement product development from product concept, formulation design, lab prototype, pilot and plant trial to product launch to the market.
Review & prepare technical documents necessary for each phase of product development from initiation stage, process validation to post launch.
Responsible for budget preparation and expense monitoring for projects handled.
B.S. in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science or any other related Science related field.
Master’s Degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related field but if none, extensive technical work experience in the Dairy Industry is acceptable as substitute
Doctorate degree preferred but not a mustAt least 5 years’ experience in food/pharmaceutical/beverage manufacturing industry in R&D, QA or production functions with at least 3 years of those spent working in all aspects of R&D product development and at least 2 years in leading a technical project team in R&D.
Experience working in the processing area or being involved in project driven by process or technology is a must.
Experience in technical assessment of process conditions is an advantage.
Experience in process development is an advantage.
Experience working in the Dairy Industry is an advantage.
Experience in handling multiple projects at one time
Basic nutrition exposure and understanding; knowledge in dairy functionality and operations; mastery of food science principles and ingredient functionality.
Generate and translate product concepts to technically feasible and consumer-relevant products using information from various products testing during all phases of product development.
Applies expertise of ingredient functionality, interactions and other fundamental food science principles for optimum product design.
Demonstrates ability to integrate various unit operations to overall product functionality for scale-up to manufacturing.
Utilizes structured process of analysis, design, contingency planning and resolution of product development problems.
Effectively communicates technical topics to various audiences to influence decisions.
Effectively utilizes networking relationships with internal R&D staff and suppliers to acquire other technical knowledge and expertise.
Utilizes all pertinent regulatory guidelines in all aspects of product formulation to ensure legal compliance and product safety.
Applies knowledge of nutritional and medical science and understands implications to product design.
Lead effectively a project in a technical team or in cross-functional teams.
Recognizes the importance of adherence to GMP, FDA and local regulatory requirements.
Recognizes the importance of employee safety in the workplace including compliance with legal, corporate safety, and environmental guidelines.
Good command and high comprehension skills for English language, both written and verbal.
Knowledge in use of MS office tools.
Can work with people and in teams in different levels and functions of the organization across different cultures.
High work interest in Research & Development functions with good sense of self-motivation and responsibility and can work independently with limited supervision.
Attention to accuracy and detail with good analytical, organizational skills and follow through.
