Description

  • Responsibility for the health of the Monitoring and automation environment for all five regions

  • Ensure Marketplace requests completed within agreed operating level agreements (OLA)

  • Engage with global customers to ensure consistency

  • Providing first level support for all monitoring and automation related issues

  • Global Prod Ops Enterprise Automation & Tools manages circa 180 z/OS LPARS, 23 iSeries LPARS, 12 Tandem and 12 Unisys systems All of these instances require standard monitoring and automation deployed

  • Manages multiple technology infrastructure teams or a technology infrastructure functional area (depending on size of business)

  • Develops strategies to ensure technology infrastructure meets business strategy goals

  • Impacts the technology infrastructure through responsibility for delivery of end results and shared responsibility for budget management; accountable for resource planning

  • Provide automation and monitoring to identified platforms to eliminate manual intervention, improve customer service and provide efficiency to handle workload

  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions

  • Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area

  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards

  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how technology infrastructure integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry

  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources

  • Persuades and influences others through strong communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties

  • Manage a geographically diverse team including both managers and subject matter experts based in ASPAC, EMEA, LATAM and NAM

  • Manage the day to day support for Mainframe (ZOS), iSeries, Tandem and Unisys platforms for all regions

  • Ensure that staffing levels are sufficient to cover both the eastern and western hemisphere

  • Manage the relationship between the group, customers and vendors

  • Ensure that the team, tools and processes are fully compliant and audit ready

  • Ensure that reporting is in place to cover projects, metrics, team performance etc

  • Ensure that succession planning is in place for the managers and SME’s

  • Manage hiring, termination and all HR related activities for the team

  • Ensure that all processes are designed with the global customer in mind

  • Ensure that all PCM’s, MCA’s, Technical documents and group documentation are maintained and updated regularly

  • Participate in forums outside of your immediate responsibility to move the Data Center organization forward

  • Ensure that regional responsibilities are taken care of and do not get lost in global responsibilities

  • Work closely with the VOE team and put in place a plan to remediate issues where possible

  • Manage the relationship with 3rd party vendors

  • Ensure that customer service is top priority and improvement plans are in place year over year

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a system management role, preferably in a financial institute

  • ITIL V3 Certified

  • Knowledge and appreciation of Controls and Compliance

  • Able to demonstrate excellent leadership within a team and with third parties

  • Service delivery focused

  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal)

  • Self-motivated, ambitious and goal oriented

  • Experience of some or all of AF/operator, System Automation for ZOS, SEA absMessage (iSeries), Opcon & Sightline(Unisys), Automated Operator & Prognosis (Tandem)

  • Analytical approach to problem solving
