Job Description and Expectations

Largely anchored on the Industry and Value Advisory Practice, SAP is the enterprise software industry benchmark for value-based selling and maintains this leadership through strength of industry, a proven methodology, unique collaborative benchmarking tools and extraordinary talent. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud business has developed a methodical Value Discovery approach tailored to the cloud selling motion that aligns with the speed of the typical cloud sales cycle and the needs of internal and external stakeholders. The prime candidate for this role would have experience building methodologies from the ground up and driving customer deal cycles from end to end leveraging this and other business outcome-driven methods.

The S/4HANA Cloud business – our public cloud ERP business is one of the cornerstones of the future success of SAP. The S/4HANA Cloud business is seeking to expand its Value Advisory Practice with a Regional Leader who would focus on:

Customer Delivery

  1. Lead regional digital advisory efforts

  2. Advise regional sales leaders and Value Advisors on their business case builds and customer value proposition development

  3. Collaboratively develop justifications for technology investment decisions by aligning solutions and business outcomes to customer’s strategic imperatives

  4. Conduct value discovery exercises with customers; with a transformation agenda

  5. Develop customer-specific value roadmaps in partnership with presales, COE and the broader VAT.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, recruiting and building a regional digital advisory team

  • Attract and retain top talent

  • Partnering with global S/4HANA Cloud field sales teams, the VAT including presales, CMI, COE, Chief Customer Office, Product Management and Development, and Customer Engagement Executives to identify revenue opportunities, build account plans, create account strategies, and construct and execute sales plays.

  • Providing executive sponsorship for customer engagements to assess strategic objectives, map out innovation scenarios, identify key improvement opportunities and other sources of economic value, and provide coaching DA’s in presenting board-ready value justification for change including business cases and executive summary value propositions

  • Furthering SAP's brand through thought leadership delivered through content creation and presentations, social and traditional media interviews, etc. (e.g. contributions to industry journals, the Digitalist, LinkedIn forums, etc.)

  • Developing industry relevant field-facing content and points of view, and presenting them live to prospects / customers via ASUG, digital conferences, and SAP-curated events

Qualifications

  • Experience and expertise managing regional and cross-functional teams across multiple industries

  • Proven success with Cloud selling and Fit-to-Standard principles.

  • Exemplary research and authoring skills with a strong emphasis on synthesis and simply representing complex scenarios.

  • Proven consultative engagement approach: identify the need for an engagement, then shape, sell and run the engagement.

  • Strong group management and facilitation skills, Design Thinking or similar methods a strong plus.

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in operations or management consulting. Sales experience required.

  • Experience in diverse technology landscape and process/technology integration issues, SAP technologies preferred.

  • Fluency in any foreign language an asset.

  • MBA or equivalent degree desirable from a top University.

  • Location open; ability to travel globally
