Philips Chief Engineer, Thermo-Mechanical Development in Singapore, Singapore

You will be responsible for development of new product functions & modules for domestic appliances. You will be involved in the whole product development cycles, from new concept generation, concept evaluation and feasibility study, detailed design (part and module), prototyping and testing until industrialization. You will take part in developing, applying and improving the competencies in the field of thermal management, steam generation and flow control. Last but not least, from time to time you will lead effort in failure analysis and developing solution in support of manufacturing & quality improvement of products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Material Engineering with at least 5 years of experience.

  • In-depth knowledge, extensive experience and proven competence in handling challenges (in mass produced devices) with regards to heat transfer, temperature sensing & control, steam generation and flow control.

  • Good knowledge in metals & metal forming (eg. deep drawing, casting) and associated failure mechanisms will be an added advantage.

  • Strong analytical & conceptual thinking

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Knowledge and experience using DFSS methodology

  • Good communication skills

You are responsible for
