Cisco Network Implementation Engineer

Duties include, but not limited to the following:

  • Analyze and document end to end message flow requirements and specify/configure/implement Wide Area Data Network systems, e.g. routers, switches, circuits (MPLS, ISP links) for IMS customers and Infrastructure.

  • Network engineer the flow of IP data between host/application systems. Lead/execute the implementation of global network connections to Rockwell Collins IMS' Wide Area Data Network.

  • Interface with customer technical contacts, refine technical requirements, and produce implementation plans & schedules.

  • Project Implementation Management and Technical Leadership - Manage the implementation/testing/configuration of ARINC Global Network (AGN) managed IP access links (customer and airport) and core network systems, e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, and Telco services.

o Determine Telco service (WAN) requirements; document requirements, release procurement specification to Telecom Procurement.

o Specify / procure necessary Cisco equipment.

o Stage / configure / test Cisco equipment.

o Prepare necessary documentation to ship / export equipment.

o Oversee the installation of equipment at IMS and Customer sites. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.

o Configure and test router / Telco IP WAN (MPLS, Internet, Wireless/Cellular) connectivity

o Configure and test ARINC / Customer Network LAN IP interface.

o Prepare cutover / migration plans and execute the cutover of customer data to the IMS production network.

o Ensure all operational documentation is completed such that the IMS Global Network Operations Center can properly operate / maintain the network connection(s).

  • Operational network on call support may be required once sufficient knowledge and experience has been attained on IMS's global network .

  • Provide technical advice / consultation to IMS Presales Technical Support staff.

  • Any other adhoc assignments assigned by Management

Requirements:

  • A related Technical Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience can be substituted.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience on Cisco IP networks

  • CCNA certification an advantage

  • Strong customer service and communication skills while working with customers

  • Work hour flexibility. Operational network cutovers are sometimes scheduled late at night.
