The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. At the forefront of the action in MCIO is our Datacenter Operations Group! In the Datacenter Project Manager role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of professionals across the Information Technology (IT) spectrum to support 24x7x365 on-site DC operations and physical infrastructures. Learn how to manage IT capacity in the datacenter, refine technical operations process, and install state of the art hardware platforms - using your broad range of skills to support deployments of Microsoft's online services in your datacenter(s). You will participate in delivery of service across this location, ranging from single large capacity facilities to several smaller ones -- all built on the cutting edge of datacenter industry design and equipment! Excellent customer service, interpersonal awareness, and communication skills will be pivotal in bringing your technical abilities to life, while supporting Microsoft?s future success! REQUIRED - Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: ? 2+ Years? experience in a production, mission-critical, 24x7x365 operations environment ? Willingness to work flexible hours, non-business hours, or other scenarios required by the flow of operations ? Ability to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner ? Ability to coordinate and host conference calls and escalation bridges with internal customers and senior management ? Proficiency with MS Office Applications ? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment ? Strong understanding of Ticketing or Workflow Management Systems and Tools ? Strong understanding of Configuration Management Tools and Information ? Experience in vendor management, ability to manage and monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved for outsourced maintenance and projects. ? Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities. ? Proven ability to deliver tasks on-time and adherence to deadlines. ? Proven ability to apply clear critical thinking in complex, stressful situations. ? Must be able to both operate as a member of a larger global team while fostering a culture of teamwork for his/her respective local team. ? Requires excellent inter-personal, communication and presentation skills. ? Proven track record in process and procedure development and execution. ? Ability to physically move 25+ kg. (60+ lbs.) Preferred - Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: ? Strong working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.) ? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment ? Experience with Critical Electrical/Mechanical Data Center technologies ? Familiarity with Project Management principles ? Strong experience with Health and Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures ? Demonstrated ability to lead a team to deliver against Company/Group Vision and Strategic Initiatives.
