This senior communications role is responsible for driving awareness and further establishing the Akamai brand through the implementation and execution of communications strategies across the APJ market. This individual will oversee thePR function, employee communications and industry analyst relations for Akamai in region, and will support the in-country leadership team, as well as visiting Akamai executives, on all press, speaking, and employee communications activities.

This role is a critical part of Akamai’s marketing efforts and requires the ability to manage a team, build external media and influencer relationships, and to drive communications activities that deliver material and measureable business benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute an effective press and thought leadership strategy, internal communications and industry analyst relations across APJ in support of corporate and divisional mission critical goals.

  • Develop executive communications programs, including message architecture, media and event targets for APJ leaders, with measurements tied to clearly defined goals & objectives.

  • Champion and develop digital, content and social led communications initiatives to support APJ revenue targets.

  • Work closely with corporate brand and divisional campaign managers to execute digital led awareness and thought leadership programs in region.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as human resources, the divisional leaders and the Managing Director in APJ to develop communications strategy and plans, and toleverage communications tools and social platforms.

  • Oversee, manage and innovate internal communications channels to inspire and keep APJ employees informed.

  • Develop and execute an influencer communications strategy (media, analysts, industry associations, government bodies),that leverages both internal influencers as well as external thought leaders.

  • Manage and build communications team in APJ.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in marketing, PR, or employee communications (focusin BTB technology or software).

  • Experience and understanding of the Internet infrastructure market (ideal candidate is familiar with Internet content delivery and security).

  • Experience in writing for the marketing of high tech solutions/products.

  • Excellent organization, program, and process management skills. Hands-on leadership and detail/process orientation. Budget and production schedule management.Ability to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Strategic thinking. Ability to translate business objectives and priorities to communications goals and measurement. Translate strategy into actionable plans.

  • Experience working globally and inmanaging a team.

  • In-depth understanding and familiarity of social media and internal communication tools.

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, pro-active, and likes to work in cross-cultural teams.

  • Excellent communications skills in English. Mandarin a plus.
