JOB LOCATION: Singapore

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

The role is GABM for Closeup, working specifically on our Freshness business which currently makes up the biggest portion of our overall business. The main purpose of the role is to support the GBM for Freshness by leading projects and/or initiatives aimed at promoting growth, profitability, and brand health in our key markets. The nature of the projects are diverse – from crafting brand communications and innovations, to implementing pricing and cost optimization initiatives, to partnering with local brand managers to deliver short-term results and put together the medium-term plans, to laying down long-term, strategic plans.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of local markets, consumers and shoppers – the business environment in which the brands compete including category segments, channels and target audience;

  • Develop brand communications and product concepts, working with advertising agencies and internal cross-functional teams including Consumer & Market Insight and R&D;

  • Purpose-driven leadership: promote the Unilever Sustainable Living Programme where it leads to positive environmental and social impact to our consumers’ lives, our customers’ business, our communities, etc.

  • Lead cross-functional teams including Finance, Consumer & Market Insight, R&D, and Supply Chain in implementing global or multi-country projects;

  • Project management: defining key deliverables and milestones, building and managing project networks with the team,

  • Partner with the local marketing teams in key markets to deliver short-term results and lay down plans for the medium-term;

  • Budget management: ensuring that budgets are allocated optimally, preserving the integrity of budget forecasts, and ensuring that spending is aligned to expectations/forecasts;

  • Assess brand performance and effectiveness of project implementation, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending the best course of action.

Experience Required :

Essential:

  • Degree with at least 3 years marketing experience;

  • A passion for marketing, brands, and sustainable purpose;

  • Experience with innovation projects;

  • Experience with creating brand communication and product concepts;

  • Positive, assertive yet empathetic leadership, with exceptional ‘soft skills’ to enable delivery through high degrees of collaboration and partnership, especially among our countries; agencies and multifunctional teams;

  • Extremely high commitment to work with many and different projects, learn fast, and deliver quickly.

Desirable:

  • Experience with being responsible for delivering the P&L/financial results

  • Experience with planning, managing, and deploying media
