Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As a Head of Access to Medicines, Emerging Markets (EM) , you should be an experienced professional in areas of commercialization and corporate affairs, price and patient access strategies, with strong project management skills and ability to lead broad cross functional team. You will be empowered to implement and expand Takeda’s Access to Medicine strategy, cross-functional plans and tactics to maximize access to Takeda’s innovative products. You will also work closely with Emerging Market country organizations as well as cross functional groups in the region, including Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Corporate Social Responsibility, Market Access, Legal, Supply Chain, Regulatory and Research & Development and the company’s oncology and other specialty therapeutic areas to expand and implement strategies and tactics that will realize Takeda’s Access to Medicines vision.
Expand Takeda’s Access to Medicines strategy and leading cross-functional team for successful implementation
Identifying key external stakeholders and partnering with external institutions on key strategic programs in the areas of public health, policy, health regulations, intellectual property, R&D, clinical trials, ethics and compliance
Cultivating and maintaining relationships with policymakers and external stakeholders to influence policies and markets in ways that can affect patients’ access to medicine
Collaborating with Intellectual Property and other groups to drive long-term pro-active intellectual property strategies for Takeda disease areas
Collaborating with other departments in running of Takeda’s patient assistance programs to increase patient’s access innovative drugs
Partnering with Area and Country organizations to deeply understand global and local access constraints, trends and opportunities and measure impact of Takeda’s Access to Medicine effort
Developing and executing key cross-functional initiatives across Emerging and developed markets to allow broad access to healthcare, infrastructures and development solutions
Creating a “Best-in-class” industry role model to support targeted and meaningful societal initiatives in the area of healthcare
Working closely with Market Access colleagues to create effective pricing and access strategies to drive revenue and patient access globally
Demonstrating company values on a consistent basis while acting in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies
Manage from P&L perspective Sub-Saharan Africa
Develop annual business plans to Sub- Saharan Africa and monitor through quarterly reviews the activity
- Master or PhD level in business administration and/or related commercial fields
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
15 years of experience in the Healthcare industry/services or public institutions;
Strong experience and successful track record in external/corporate affairs, policy and product commercialization
Science and health policy driven mind-set with ability to connect corporate access initiatives with research and development and commercialization processes
Ability to represent Takeda with different key international public and private institutions
Must have the ability to influence, lead, negotiate and work effectively at all levels within a matrix and multi-cultural environment
Enthusiasm, confidence, ability to work on multiple tasks, problem solving ability, strategic and tactical thinking, creativity and effectively prioritize to meet personal, team and company goals
Strong, team-oriented individual with excellent communication/ presentation skills in English
