IBM is currently hiring a High Performance Computing Technical Sales Specialist. Technical Sales Specialists partner with IBM and Business Partner sales teams to deliver industry centric business solutions to clients. As a client-facing technical sales professional, you will be guided by IBM's purpose – to be essential to its clients. We are seeking individuals interested in making an impact in selling IBM's High Performance Computing portfolio including software, servers and storage, as well as Lab Services. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape next generation High Performance Computing deployments for clients, with a specific focus on Data management and analytics, High Performance Computing, GPU Technologies, Scientific Computing and Software Defined Storage. You will develop specific, long-lasting relationships with technical leaders from your assigned customer set and advise them on infrastructure solutions for their compute and storage requirements. You will lead all technical aspects of High Performance Computing engagements for your clients from opportunity identification, and proof of concept to implementation, working hand in hand with our sales teams and global R&D resources. You are passionate about technology, and your success as a Technical Sales Specialist is based on deep technical expertise, good insights into open source solutions, a good understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business opportunities across multiple industries. Excellent communication and presentation skills allow you to convey compelling value propositions, and work effectively across internal and external organizations. Leading presales client engagements from opportunity identification, to solution design and proof of concepts, owning the technical client relationship
Co-create new ways of doing business with clients, using High Performance Computing solutions. Working hand in hand with our sales teams leveraging your in-depth technical background to help customers understand how to improve their businesses using our infrastructure solutions.
Build, design, and present solutions to customers, partners and evangelize our platform at industry events. Be an internal champion for High Performance Computing among the IBM technical community
Passion for scientific and high performance computing is a must have, someone who keeps up to date on latest trends and techniques; willing to share knowledge with the team
Advanced knowledge of Linux systems, and a deep knowledge of the open source ecosystem
Programming capabilities, comfortable with at least one high-performance programming language (C, C++, FORTRAN, ...) and comfortable with at least one scripting language (i.e. Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby,...)
Experience in one of the following areas: Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Image & Video Processing, Seismic Imaging or Computational Chemistry, Genomics, Biochemistry
Exposure to GPU technology and CUDA programming
Knowledge of Cluster Management Tools (i.e. xCAT) and Cluster Resource Managers (ie. LSF) and InfiniBand Networks
Really-Nice-to-Haves: Applied experience working with Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Cassandra, mongoDB, and/or Experience with OpenMP, MPI and other parallel programming languages and/or Knowledge of frameworks like Caffe, Torch, CNTK, TensorFlow, Theana,…
At least 2 years experience in selling data transformation solutions
At least 2 years experience in selling Big Data software solutions (eg SAS, Cloudera, Teradata, SAP)
At least 2 years experience in working with structured and unstructured data, tools and projects or associated frameworks and tools eg Spark, ML/DL, Splunk
At least 2 years experience in selling in large Systems Integration projects, working with large or specialists SI’s.
