Key Responsibilities:

  • The primary function is to ensure that a robust control framework exists in which Asia Pacific Markets & Securities Services operates and to provide support for new business developments whether driven by market, regulatory, product or technology needs. Specifically, the role will encompass:

  • Maintaining and developing the Managers Controls Assessment framework for Asia Pacific Markets & Securities Services; designing and creating processes to enable monitoring which determines whether or not control processes continue to operate as prescribed' promoting an environment within Asia Pacific Securities Services which encourages the self-identification and reporting of control issues

  • Leading the Asia Pacific Markets effort for key control projects (such as AML transactions monitoring)

  • Reviewing and coordinating responses to draft policies and policy enhancements on behalf of Asia Pacific Markets & Securities Services

  • Acting as source of expertise on control related matters for key desks and providing direction in relation to regular controls meetings, advising real time on control processes, preparation for internal audit and regulatory inspections, new product transaction review and conditions monitoring

  • Coordinating with the New York and London Markets & Securities Services Risk & Control teams to respond to and escalate emerging control issues and initiatives

  • Coordinating business preparation for and responses to inspections from regulators, auditors and other relevant groups

  • Participating in peer reviews

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work across support functions and in consultation with business control specialists in other regions and products is essential

  • The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of experience in financial services

  • Prior experience in Audit, Compliance or Legal would be beneficial
