Brief Description

The role of the IT Project Manager for Terminal Systems is to drive and manage the projects related to IT system changes in the Terminals under the responsibility of APL (and potentially the CMA CGM Group) with a specific focus on Asia Region. Example of main projects: TOS (Terminal Operating System) upgrade, new TOS implementation, rationalization of TOS/Core Liner systems integration.

He/She will be part of the global team supporting the Terminals applications and processes for the Group. For the projects under his/her responsibility, will lead the end to end project management from scoping phase, vendor RFP, project initialization, team set-up, up to tracking status of deliverables and milestones; programme level risk and issue coordination until project closure. The incumbent needs to work closely with business users, external vendors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of the projects

Key Result Areas

  • Track and report project management activities including scoping phases, design, data migration, testing, training and deployment, ensuring projects are delivered according to contractual scope, budget and timeline

  • Vendor management including RFP conduction and assessment, contractualization, status progress, issue management

  • Coordination/Reporting with the Group (CMA CGM and APL) Terminal Management and Core Liner IT departments

Key Accountabilities/Duties

  • Ensure project budget and planning tracking and fulfilment

  • Work closely with Terminal users and Local IT to ensure Business and Non Functional requirements are well gathered. Manage proper project communication

  • Make sure that all the relevant parties (CMA CGM, APL) are involved in the decision milestones

  • Report in a timely manner project status and issue/risk to IT management. Escalate for management alert decision whenever suitable with a clear description of the issue/risk and proposal for solution or mitigation

  • Involve in a timely manner Procurement department for all Vendor choice and management

  • Have a prospective approach on the Terminal systems market

  • Support actively Terminals (Local IT and Business) processes on recurring activities when Head Office is requested to participate. Participate to the yearly budget assessment and tracking

Education

Degree in Computer Science or Liner Shipping disciplines

Experience

At least 5 years’ of experience in the Terminal industry in managerial position

Strong Container Terminal Operating System knowledge (including TOS implementation / migration projects).
