Lead project technologist is process engineering, project process expert to develop major projects ofthe Bukom site. The role ensures that project developmentin line with the site’s long term aspiration planand strategic direction(e.g. portfolio of Growth program which includehydrocarbon, energy master plans,Regulatory compliance and utility master plan, projects associated to remove site wide reliability threats etc..). The role is critical in making sure projects are developed and executed according to the project agreed business opportunity and complying with the DS Opportunity Realization Manual
Key responsibilities of the role
a) Leads the development of projects (including inputs to project economics) through the concept Scouting, Identify/Assess, Select and Define project phases and see projects through the Execute/CSU phase.
b) Ensures process assurance, process safety and process reliability, in accordance to the requirement in project ORM
c) Be the site focal point for project liaison activities with shell P&T, Supply, Shell Chemicals and other interface classes of businesses as required.
d) responsible for coordinating with P&T, Develop & Review the project premises, design basis, project technical documentation.
e) Approve and accept the finalized documentation as stipulated.
f) Ensure that project capex/revex are clearly identified and that all necessary considerations are included in the economic calculations
g) Ensure site wide integration and optimization of existing facility, operational constraints in framing, development of projects
h) Point of liaison with site resources and keep internal stakeholders engaged, informed, involved as necessary
i) Supports the progress of the projects to meet the required assurance stage gates, schedule and approved capex limits.
Other responsibility is Mentor, Coach and guide process engineers in project development
Assists on specific studies associated with projects and also participate as focal in master planning to refresh the pipeline of growth opportunities.
The following are the minimum requirements for the role applicant:
a) Posses Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
b)10+ years of experience in preferably in a refinery and /or a chemical/petrochemical site.Have proven work experiences in Operations, technology and project development.
Familiar with primary and secondary conversion processes and light ends production, processing/treatment
Experience in leading group of process engineersand supervising todeliver portfolio of small projects/improvements
-Have sound understanding of project development, execution, commissioning and start-up. Prior experience in managing multiple demands and various stakeholders needs is essential.
c) Experience in frontend development of complex project is advantage
-Have demonstrated ability on strategic thinking
-Able to work collaboratively across multiple disciplinary functions.
-Have good organizational skills with demonstrated collaborative strengths in past roles
-Solid influencing and interpersonal skills and capable of advocating site project assurance processes to larger groups of audiences. Good report writing and capital proposal skills.
-A driven individual performer and self-starter with positive attitude and excellent team work abilities. Must be flexible, adaptable and resilient.
d) Familiar and experience in handling Brown field project development
e) Skill to mastery in process engineering/process safety competencies and well versed with industry codes, standards applicable for chemical process design
