The incumbent supports the pricing manager in managing the utilisation of all Asia to Mediterranean ocean services and assist in all pricing matters related to the Westbound trade. He/she will conduct market analysis; monitor competitive price actions; and report on business performance of business segment within his/her remit.

He/She will also assist the manager in the development of new businesses as well as be involved in the relationship management of key customers in Asia Mediterranean trade.

He/She will work directly with the commercial team in the Mediterranean offices and also indirectly with the Asia origin offices. Travelling to the Mediterranean offices and occasionally Asia locations will be required.

Key Result Areas

  • Achieve utilization set for Asia Mediterranean services

  • Review and complete all Mediterranean regional rate requests

  • Yield Management – communicate guidelines on pricing, space allocation, cargo flows to maximise yield and utilisation of services

  • Develop good relationship with key customers to access market intelligence

Key Accountabilities/Duties

  • Execute tactical plans to achieve the strategic objectives

  • Monitor and report progress of strategy execution

  • Communicate pricing guidelines and approval for all Mediterranean destinations

  • Coordinate space allocation, monitor booking discipline, and coordinate with all Mediterranean destination offices on achieving targeted volume and utilisation of FOB accounts

  • Foster relationships and negotiate pricing agreements with Europe/Mediterranean controlled customers and commercial organisation in the Mediterranean/Europe
