Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) is currently recruiting a Regional Demand Manager to be based in Asia Pacific (APAC) supporting the APAC Region.

The Regional Demand Manager is part of the global Demand Management Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, responsible for the adherence of the Affiliates to the global demand planning process and timelines. He/She will monitor and analyse the in-market demand in his/her region to capture and anticipate demand driven events, to gather qualitative information about sales trends and to aggregate the data / information at different levels of granularity, in order to support enhanced decision making within Janssen Supply Chain. He/She will support the Affiliates/Commercial Organizations by providing assistance to the use of the Global Demand Planning/Reporting tools and by providing guidance to the Demand Planning Process. He/She will support further expansion and improvement of the statistical tools. He/She will engage with functional peers to identify process improvement opportunities to further enhance supply chain operations or best practices to be shared / implemented in the region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the established forecasting process, and ensure demand is generated and validated.

  • Report and monitor a set of metrics (e.g. MAPE, BIAS, etc.) to measure forecast performance. Prepare product/ country/region summaries to support the reporting out to upper management.

  • Ensure the most accurate Demand information available for the JCS organization.

  • Utilize the Next Generation Forecast (NGF), Business Warehouse, QlikView tools when evaluating optimal Consensus Demand.

  • Understand market intelligence, promotional activity, seasonality, and other external factors that impact demand.

  • Provide key inputs to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.

  • Support the design and execution of monthly analyses on forecasts in order to identify trends and anomalies for the countries and franchise so stakeholders can make the right decisions based on forecast.

  • Drive the one global repository concept to ensure data availability and transparency to our stakeholders.

  • Own the Demand Planning Meetings at the Country level including preparing data and leading the monthly forecast meetings with all stakeholders as required.

  • Support affiliates planner’ capability improvement and coordinate required training as requested.

  • Own the responsible brand review meeting with Global Planning.

  • Continuously assess processes with an innovative mindset to drive future improvements.

  • Support the Regional Account Directors (RAD) / Cluster Leads in their Franchise/Region level S&OP meetings as requested.

  • Coordinate Regional demand review with RAD/Regional S&OP Directors.

  • Support the Product Lifecycle process (from NPI - New Product Introduction to EOL – End of Life) as needed.

  • Partner with other departments including Global Planning, Office of Strategy and Execution, Product Management and other business partners for latest information sharing, improved communications and support.

  • Generate and review reports of the financial forecast and the operational forecast to ensure understanding and communication of the business evolution to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems.


  • Degree in Engineering/Mathematics/ Forecasting or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of demand/supply chain or related experience.

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen is required.

  • Result oriented and able to independently create and deliver.

  • Challenging mindset and must be able to extract qualitative information while collaborating with Business Partners.

  • Demonstrate initiative and work in cross-functional team effectively.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to build consensus and effectively communicate and collaborate with people from different departments, and at all levels specifically within Supply Chain and Commercial.

  • Experience in S&OP is an asset.

  • Strong presentation skills are required, along with the ability to communicate succinctly.

  • SAP APO, SAP R/3, forecasting, Business warehouse and Demand Management Systems knowledge.

  • Proficiency in using MS Excel, Word and Power Point is required.

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry is an asset.

  • Project Management experience is an asset.

  • The role may require up to 20% travel.
