J&J Family of Companies Sales Manager in Singapore, Singapore

Responsible for managing a team to achieve sales objectives and execute sales strategies aligned to company goals. This role will also set business directions, manage customer experience and drive high performance.

Incumbent will manage Account Manager, Associate Account Manager, Senior Product Specialist, Product Specialist.

This position reports to Cluster Leader.


  • Engage and Inspire others through promoting a culture of team work and synergies, effective situational coaching and counselling

  • Build and shape organizational capabilities by challenging the status quo, and active involvement in BP and strategic planning

  • Aligned with company objectives, develop and implement strategic territory plan to achieve annual growth and target

  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to gain insights

  • Execute on key account management strategies to facilitate and foster long-term partnerships that deliver growth opportunities with key customers and HODs.

  • Forge partnerships and execute initiatives that shape customer perceptions and/or drives a competitive edge for J&J

  • Strong engagement with Heads of Departments and Key Opinion Leaders

  • Leverage sales force effectiveness tools to guide call planning & target achievement

  • Lead compliant business practices and nurture this behavior as part of team culture

Team Development & Management

  • Recruit, develop and retain talent

  • Coach, motivate and lead the sales team to achieve business targets through performance management, developing sales plans, account profiles, conducting joint calls and running monthly business reviews

  • Demonstrate J&J leadership imperatives through role modeling in conducting day to day business.

  • Develop learning plan for sales team to build capabilities using internal and external resources.

  • Spend at least 70% of time in the field with sales team.

Self & Processes

  • Develop sufficient product knowledge and clinical understanding to be able to competently discuss issues with key customers

  • Participate in relevant trade displays, education courses and seminars.

  • Manage controllable expenses in accordance to plan.

  • To manage and lead ad-hoc projects that is assigned.

  • To undertake any other duties or responsibilities deemed necessary, for the advancement of the Company


  • Degree in Business, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences or Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration and Management will be an advantage.

  • Has 8-10 years' proven track record in Account Management, and good industry experience.

  • Possess at least 3 years' people management experience with strong success track record of achievement

  • A strong team player with excellent influencing, communication & presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and develop strong relationship with stakeholders

  • Demonstrated strong leadership qualities, driven by a passion to excel in a customer-centric and innovative organization.

  • Able to lead by example,

  • Must be willing to work long and irregular hours, including weekends.

This position will be based in Singapore.
