PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Global Corporate Office Network Service team manages the internal corporate office networks for more than 200 locations at SAP. The team is responsible for the end to end delivery of the data network services in SAP’s Internal Corporate Network.
SAP is looking to further strengthen our Office Network support team in APJ. We are looking for an experienced network engineer with solid knowledge across a variety of network technologies with a focus on Cisco routing and switching.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Work as a part of our Global team to deploy, operate, monitor and maintain the global network infrastructure
Co-ordinate deployment of new network services
Provide subject matter expertise in the design of network services with a focus on Cisco Routing and Switching
Responsible for third/fourth line incident support
Install, configure and deploy routers, switches, wireless controllers and access points, firewalls and other network equipment
Carry out network capacity planning, network performance monitoring, trending and reporting to ensure that network services match business requirements
Ensure that service and operations level agreement are met
Investigate and evaluate new network technologies. Design and deploy solutions based on those technologies
Ensure compliance of network infrastructure to global standards
Work closely with our L1-L3 Managed Service Providers and ensure the service meets business requirements
Work closely with and manage our vendor relationship on a regional basis
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering or equivalent working knowledge
Excellent knowledge of design and operations of Layer 2/Layer 3 routing and switching, preferably Cisco Networks
Working knowledge of Wireless, Acceleration, Firewall, Proxy, DNS, DHCP and Network Access Control
Good understanding of client/server technology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language
Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities
Analytical thinking and problem solving
Autonomous and proactive working behavior
Flexible attitude towards working hours to work as part of the global team
Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching or proven equivalent knowledge
Project Co-ordination Skills
- 6 years of experience as a (Senior) Network Engineer in a global networking enviornment.
