Specialty Market Development - Specialist; (2 positions):
The specialty market development specialist takes the critical role beyond the traditional surgical device marketing focusing on commercial products. This position must create and implement specialty development strategy that encompasses a portfolio of combination of services and products across the patient continuum. This position shall act as a clinical economic data expert for selected specialties within MEDTRONIC and shall work closely with the healthcare community in collecting, analysing disseminating the data for development of the specific specialty.
Partner with commercial and specialty lead across region / global (including Medical Affairs, RD, Marketing, Finance and Super Regional leaders) to build and implement specialty market development strategy and key tactics.
Establish target procedure and competitive business intelligence platform.
Support in assessing of new product development opportunity, including fit with target procedure strategy and portfolio, pitching to specialty lead.
Act as expert to internal cross-functional partners by providing product related, evidence-based medical-scientific information/training; coordinate and support internal educational support to the country/region sales and marketing groups.
Develop and implement the country/region scientific communication strategy and platform (aligned with the country/region business strategy).
Identify country/region thought leaders and medical professional associations in appropriate therapeutic/technology areas related to MEDTRONIC’s product portfolio. Working with Medical Affairs, identify and investigate new evidence generation opportunity to drive target procedure development.
Collaborate with the Medical Affairs in the review and prioritization of all ISRs (Investigator Sponsored Research) requests from the country/region to ensure focus alignment.
Attend key scientific meeting to obtain the most up to date scientific data (including competitive information) and disseminate key findings.
Coordinate and lead development of strategic and implementation reviews as required.
Education required/ preferred: medicine / pharma backgrounds (licensed), MBA and/or 5 7+ years of medical device or equivalent experience preferred
Skills / Competencies:
Proven understanding of the medical device, pharmaceutical and healthcare system
Analytical skills and capability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific information
Insight to determine sales and customer communication/education needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills with proven track record in the organization of medical-scientific events
Excellent interpersonal skills are a must to be effective in a matrix organization and with customers.

This position reports to senior marketing director and will have strong ties to the functional leaders as well as the leaders in each of the global business units.
Key element is flexibility and commitment to complete key tasks within time frame. Ability to travel as much as necessary for position (up to 50% travel, including international travel)
