Lead the Statutory and Tax FSSC team
Responsible for compliance with statutory, fiscal, tax requirements and filing deadlines.
Responsible for US GAAP accounts preparation, month-end close and year-end close.
Prepare the information requested by internal and external Auditors & deal with queries arising.
Ensure the integrity of internal financial controls.
Meet Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
Liaison between FSSC team and local management team.
Keep up with and implement country regulations for finance areas under the responsibility of FSSC.
Develop & Maintain Good working relationships within Shared Services Centre and local Management.
Projects & Other Responsibilities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for compliance with statutory, fiscal, tax requirements and filing
Ensure the accountants has VAT training and prepare the VAT returns in compliance with the filing deadlines
Ensure the accounting entries are prepared in line with fiscal requirements.
Play an active role to ensure that documents are filed and archived in line with AMO & fiscal policies
Lead revenue audits and investigations.
Work closely with the FSSC team on various compliance initiatives to ensure that files are prepared and readily available to support annual accounts, tax and vat returns both historically and into the future
Responsible for US GAAP accounts preparation, month-end close and year-
Responsible for Month end close process, close governance and associated corporate reporting
Coordinate the closing activities for the entities
Coordinate between FSSC, Payroll teams and business partners to ensure smooth month end close
Review month end financials to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Provide inputs in the Month end close review calls with business units.
Actively lead all areas in accounting to ensure accuracy & correctness of month end accounts.
Ensure all intercompany cross charges are accurately processed in line with legal agreements.
Provide support and assistance to the team with the preparation of the accounts.
Responsible for review of accounting journals and account reconciliations
Prepare the information requested by internal and external Auditors & deal
with queries arising.
Participate actively in the US GAAP & Statutory audits.
Responsible for ensuring that information is prepared in the correct format, reconciled and provided on a timely basis to the auditors.
Provide financial analysis to internal and external Auditors queries
Responsible to follow up on audit queries and coordinate with relevant sources of information e.g. FP&A teams, other FSSC teams etc..
Work closely with the management team and external auditors to suggest ways to enhance the efficiency of the external audit.
Co-operate with any requests from internal audit and provide financial analysis if necessary
- Ensure the integrity of internal financial controls.
Drive compliance remediation and controls out of internal audit findings
Ensures that good accounting practices (US & Local GAAP) and corporate finance policies are followed.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Work with FSSC team to design the compliance remediation control processes, Set up compliance testing procedures and provide training to business partners in compliance related matters to ensure the internal controls of the all APAC entities are robust and compliant.
Conduct periodic testing or review of compliance controls which includes finance, IT and compliance processes
- Meet Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
- Ensure operational activities meet monthly/ quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI)and Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Liaison between FSSC team and local management team
- Liaison between FSSC and local management, review market issues arising which may have an impact on the financials. Understand the business issues and requirements as they arise and provide guidance, support and solutions to the business on accounting procedures and treatment
Keep up with and implement country regulations for finance areas underthe responsibility of FSSC
Projects & Other Responsibilities
Participate and assist in the co-ordination of Shared Service Organisation & worldwide accounting projects and other initiatives
Continue to strive for process improvements, standardization of procedures and implementation of best practice.
Involvement in future business projects and integration of new business as required.
Be subject matter expert on all compliance with statutory, fiscal, tax
Document accounting processes
Review the team’s documented processes
Review process\procedures and provide guidance, training and suggestions to the team.
Develop & Maintain Good working relationships within Shared Services
Centre and local Management
Develop & maintain good working relationships within the Shared Services Centre & local markets to ensure optimum business performance.
Work closely with local Management teams to review issues which may have an impact on the financials.
Present financial information to the local management
Prepare ad-hoc reports for local management as required.
Education and Experience:
• Previous Shared Service Centre experience preferred
• Previous experience of managing and leading teams
• A degree in finance, commerce or accounting, a CPA or similar certification
• Minimum of 6-10 year experience in audit or finance with largemultinational company in Asia Pacific
• Familiarity with US and international accounting standards
• Experience in the preparation of annual statutory statements and tax/Vatreturns
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English and Chinese
