Role descriptionAIG underwriters develop insurance solutions for companies and individuals in order to protect them should they be held liable by a third party. In order to do this, the underwriter performs significant analyses on the company/individual to better understand the risk exposures. Only after getting a comprehensive understanding of the business can an underwriter move on to form the terms and conditions (T&C) of the policy, price the premium, and put specific endorsements and exclusions to mitigate our risk exposure appropriately. The underwriter is also expected to perform their tasks in accordance to the underwriting guidelines and to have an understanding of the department’s/regional risk appetite.
In this role, you will identify and underwrite profitable accounts within underwriting limits under direction and guidance from the Profit Centre Manager (PCM) & Senior Underwriter. You will also maintain and grow relationships with brokers under PCM's direction as well as manage assigned accounts, ensuring efficient document workflow in line with operational procedures.
REQUIRED - Minimum grade point average of 3.2 (out of 4.0) from any degree / discipline - Enthusiastic and committed to pursuing a career in the global insurance industry - Graduating before July 2018 and available for full-time employment between February 2018 to July 2018. Recent graduates with up to one year work experience will also be considered - Possess valid work visa for Singapore PREFERRED AIG seeks candidates who have excelled in previous work experience, demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills.
