Position Description: Consultant, Public Health

This individual will work in the Public Health BU, although the position would involve close working relationships with other BU, especially Consulting Group, Primary Intelligence, Real-World Insights, Technology & Applications and QI country teams. This individual will contribute significantly to securing revenue to support the Public Health BU and to ensuring effective cross-BU collaboration in support of key donors and clients in the private, public and social sector.

Specific areas of responsibilities include:

Team and project management

  • Manage resources to deliver compelling on-time communications and project deliverables for clients

  • Oversee and execute a diverse range of proposals, progress reports and related project documentation

  • Provides comprehensive technical and administrative advice and assistance to all public health related grants, contracts, and activities

  • Identifies problems and negotiates corrective action concerning programmatic issues and basic budgetary management

  • Creates and maintains grant records that meet legal, auditing and other requirements.

  • Conducts grant/contract assessments and prepares reports necessary to program continuity and reporting. Monitors compliance with grant/contract requirements including legal and financial audit

  • Develop and manage effective processes, SOPs and tools to enhance the public health BU project effectiveness, including but not limited to:

  • Managing inputs and deliverables from all team members to ensure high quality materials are developed and deadlines are met

  • Matching potential funding agencies and clients with existing program commitments and new program ideas from QI

  • Ensure effective and timely communication of program progress to funding agencies and clients

  • Enhance QI public health BU’s ability to capture and communicate program impact

  • Support development of new program initiatives and ideas for go-to-market strategies

Proposal writing

  • Manage the development of proposals for strategic donors, working closely with team members to develop, oversee and negotiate partnerships with donors and provide guidance on proposal

  • Create key messaging and supporting information to compel donor engagement

  • Write proposal content, including narrative, quantitative and qualitative information

  • Respond to donor questions and revise proposals as needed

Donor reporting

  • Manage timeline of reports due and write narrative progress reports for strategic donors

  • Assemble program data for purposes of donor reporting, including if required, stories from the field or collect, review, report data on monitoring and evaluation indicators

Knowledge management

  • Create and manage standardized templates (donor specific and generic) related to proposal development, donor reporting and other purposes

  • Work closely with Marketing and Communications team to regularly update and develop materials to communicate project successes on latest initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

  • Key Market experience: Indonesia and Greater Mekong Sub-region. Experience in China would be an advantage

  • Advanced / Master’s degree preferred, with at least five years of relevant experience

  • Excellent communication, persuasive writing, editing and presentation skills

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Excellent coordination and time management skills

  • Excellent analytical skills; able to quickly grasp and effectively communicate complex

  • Passionate about international development; experience in health financing, health systems strengthening, private-public partnerships a plus

  • Experience with program management and global grant making preferred
