The Opportunity

The Awareness & Adoption Advisor contributes to the enablement of EY partners and practitioners to effectively and efficiently use knowledge tools and services to support them in winning and delivering work. This role works collaboratively with other EY Knowledge resources to promote self-service within the practice and to develop and deliver programs educating users about available knowledge tools, services and expectations of their knowledge sharing.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of knowledge training, raising awareness of knowledge resources to practitioners in a region, by creating appropriate materials as well as taking global materials and adapting them for local use.

  • Prioritize and deliver regional Awareness & Adoption activities defined within the domain integrated knowledge plan, including building relationships with local stakeholders, regional and Area Learning & Development to create opportunities to deliver knowledge training and awareness and integrate knowledge into and milestone events. Effectively manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders with varying perspectives through proven management techniques, such as delegation, conflict resolution, influence or persuasion.

  • Lead or participate in the design and delivery of learning and awareness programs or deployment projects, using proven project planning and project management approaches, for community and enterprise-wide knowledge tools and services.

  • Work with knowledge managers, analysts in other domains, content or community advisors, application managers, and other teams’ members across domains and functions to optimize deployment development and delivery.

  • Depending on requirements, may deliver knowledge training and awareness activities to EY practitioners in a Global Talent Hub (GTH).

  • Build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships within the EY Knowledge colleagues, regional markets, BMC, L&D and the service lines, to understand business drivers, customize and deliver programs of mutual benefit to customers, and to leverage, learn from and minimize redundancies.

  • Monitor progress and assess impact of activities via measurements and determine future actions

  • Determine what change management techniques are most appropriate for the customer and outcome desired

  • Provide coaching to practitioners who need guidance on what knowledge resources to use and how to use them

  • Pass practitioner feedback on knowledge resources and tools to other parts of EY Knowledge, so capabilities and delivery can be improved

  • Apply appropriate use of EY branding, positioning and visual identity.

  • Resolve or appropriately escalate issues that impact the quality of training and awareness.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Understands the firm’s go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support service delivery, and how knowledge awareness and adoption enables exceptional client service and high performing teams.

  • Understands EY Vision 2020 and Knowledge Transformation, and ensures team awareness and adoption support is aligned to them

  • Quickly defines problems, collects input, conducts assessments, draws conclusions and problem-solves.

  • Interprets policy to manage risk with regard to intellectual capital and knowledge-sharing.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Works independently within own region operating with minimum supervision, but collaboratively with others in EY Knowledge and the Area.

  • If responsible for managing Regional Awareness & Adoption Advisors in one or more regions, may also undertake recruitment, act as a counselor and participate in review committees, develop and deliver learning and development for the team, and make resource management decisions

  • Coaches and mentors more junior Awareness & Adoption team members and others across EY Knowledge

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong experience in creating learning and development programs using innovative solutions, maintaining a global perspective but customize as appropriate

  • Experience with online research databases and websites, business information tools and SharePoint

  • Able to manage competing priorities, multiple projects and stakeholders with varying perspectives, with strong problem solving skills

  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills and able to communicate with and influence senior stakeholders

  • Able to take initiative and be proactive in a fast-paced and highly challenging environment, and complete a variety of tasks necessary to accomplish the job

  • Thinks globally, implements regionally (Areas) and acts locally.

  • Adapts to constantly changing work requirements while assimilating new information, analyzing it and effectively applying it.

  • Strong leadership, management and relationship skills, including cultivating a globally dispersed, integrated team, delegating, coaching, defining expectations, and building relationships focused on developing world-class practices.

  • Able to successfully implement business changes, appreciation of change management principles and concepts and a positive approach to change

  • Proficient in business English and the local languages (where applicable)

  • Understanding of the business and demonstrated commercial acumen using commercial language that presents knowledge activities in the context of business objectives

  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills to talk about knowledge programs in a clear, compelling manner with a professional/executive presence

  • Strong project management skills (facilitation, negotiation, follow-up)

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • 7 – 10 years’ experience in a knowledge, training or communications role with a proven track record

  • Experience working remotely/virtually

  • This role may require international travel. Some non-standard hours will be needed to accommodate global time zones.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Prior working experience in global professional services organization or mid-tier firms will be highly advantageous
