POSITION SUMMARY:

Corporate Finance Leader in charge of Financial Planning Analysis (FPA), Financial Enterprise Excellence (FEE) and all data and reporting intelligence for Asia Pacific region covering Japan, Australia New Zealand, Korea, India Subcontinent and Southeast Asia with close to $4 billion annual revenue.The role will work directly with APAC President, CFO and senior functional leaders to drive annual budgeting and strategic planning, and monthly forecasting and performance reporting.The role will manage a team of 6-8 reports and be a member of the APAC Finance Leadership Team.

It is crucial for the Finance Leader to drive business performance and enhance operational effectiveness through insightful analysia, influence on strategic direction and execution. The main responsibilities also include providing robust financial evaluation and enabling decision making on initiatives and investments, and ultimately helping Medtronic to maximize revenue, long term profits and cash-flows.

MAIN PURPOSE:

  • Support the VP Finance APAC in financial management across all Business Groups and sub-regionsin APAC, driving business results, monitoring performance and cash-flow to optimize resource allocations and maximize profitable growth.

  • Support the business leaders with achieving country and regional financial results through close collaboration and best practice sharing across the region.

  • Partner with finance leads in other groups/regions to standardize processes, reporting and timelines wherever possible across countries and businesses.

  • Support business to assess and capture business development opportunities such as acquisitions or licensing contracts.

  • Perform scenario planning and demonstate impacts of strategies/decisions on the business to facilitate prioritization and decision making.

  • Help conceptualize/structure market models, challenge assumptions and influence strategy and decision making.

  • Challenge resource allocation and drive allocation of resources to the most value creating opportunities.

  • Provide analytical/strategic inputs and challenge marketin-sales planning, segmentation and targetting enhance effectiveness of Medtronic in the market.

  • Provide strong commercial/financial decision support to Regional Business and Finance Leaders.

  • Develop and effectively communicate expectations and results for the business. Prepare presentation materials and written analyses for senior management and other stakeholders on financial performance and investment proposals.

  • Perform advanced, robust financial and feasibility analyses, incorporating finance, commercial, regulatory and market dynamics into the modeling.

  • Revious, analyzes and interprets financial information to provide business pro-active advice as a partner to business leadership. Participates actively in key management and business decisions, lead, direct senior managers to ensure that the organization's financial strategies are implemented effectively.

  • Contributes to the strategic planning process to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the business objectives.

  • Complies with the organiation's Finance and Legal policies and procedures, responds to both Internal and External Audit enquiries in a timely manner and ensures follow-up on action items to address audit recommendations.

  • Responsible for the management of staff including selection, direction setting, feedback and coaching, performance management, rewards and recognition and development planning to support the business operations.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • At least 15 years of experiences in financial planning, reporting and control

  • At least 5 years of experience in successfully managing a team and function

  • Experience from top multinational company within FMCG or Healthcare industry highly desirable

  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail and proven track record in process improvement

  • Sound knowledge of compliance and statutory reporting requirements.US GAAP knowledge

  • Ability to build strong business partnering relationships

  • Computer literacy including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA

  • Qualified undergraduate degree in accounting or finance

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some overtime and international travel will be required.
