Executive Program Manager


The EPM will support Teradata customers by creating, managing or leading all or part of the customer’s data warehouse program. He or she will use experience and thought leadership to establish and develop an appropriate data warehouse strategy for strategic customers. The EPM will take overall responsibility for planning, organising and delivering an operational data warehouse and will have the responsibility to oversee the participation of the customer, of Teradata and potentially of other service suppliers, on behalf of the customer. Depending on the assignment, the responsibility may include the technical deployment and business roll-out in the customer organization.


  • Manage all or part of a data warehouse implementation for a customer organisation

  • Provide thought leadership to customer data warehouse manager or CIO on all aspects of creating or implementing a successful data warehouse implementation, from strategy definition through to measurement of business benefits realisation

  • Lead the scoping, planning, cost estimating, and pricing of consulting projects. Responsible for statement of work development and risk assessment, including but not limited to defining goals and objectives, identifying client requirements, resource requirements, project budget, project risks and the translation of the clients’ business requirements into specific deliverables

  • Lead data warehouse or other Teradata solution implementation projects of medium to very high complexity, or a collection of multiple smaller projects

  • Mentoring project managers

  • Negotiate with and manage work performed by subcontractors (internal and external organisations),

  • Manage day-to-day relationship with client stakeholders and resolution of all issues

  • Maintains and communicates project status to all stakeholders in reports and meetings

  • Identify incremental business within the project through change control; Manage change requests, including their development, negotiation and implementation within the project scope

  • Ensure monthly billings and timely collection of revenue, and manage procurement and payment to contractors

  • Ensure projects are completed on-time, within budget, and within customer expectations for quality and functionality

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Operational management experience responsible for creating or managing a data warehouse and BI implementation for a client organisation or experience managing data warehouse projects in a competitive environment is required

  • Strong, flexible and positive personality, capable of working successfully with staff at all levels within an organization, getting things done through influencing where necessary. A proactive attitude, high personal commitment and motivation is required

  • Experience managing program with contractual and budgetary responsibility is required

  • Proven leadership skills; Verifiable people management skills (managing 20 project team members or more)

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, written communication and presentation skills

  • Experience at working effectively in highly challenging environments; Quick learner, ability to adapt to new and changing circumstances

  • Experience of implementing projects on Teradata would be an advantage

  • Experience on Finance industry would be an advantage

  • Master’s Degree is target level of education
