The opportunity

You will be working to drive growth in Law service offerings through operational excellence, brand development, thought leadership, and markets campaigns. This role works directly with the Asia-Pacific Leader and other team members to manage internal operations and growth, and the leadership team. It also include developing plan with the leaders, building and driving market campaigns, and leading execution of Thought Leadership priorities to support the go to market campaigns.

Qualifications:

Your key responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of EY law practice for Asia-Pacific

  • Assisting tax and law leadership with all relevant EY Law regional/area matters, including prepare for calls/meetings/events and all relevant EY Law materials, liaise with Asia-Pacific and global EY law leaders on various requests.

  • Liaising with Area and country law leaders, IT, Finance, HR, L&D and BMC teams to ensure all law related business requests and issues have been addressed or resolved properly and in time.

  • Liaising with country law leaders on cross border legal service requests and assist with completing RFPs.

  • Understanding the financial plan and work with Area law leader to drive the performance of the law practices in APAC

  • Monitoring and understand the financial performance of each APAC jurisdiction periodically

  • Managing all regional and area EY Law meetings, telephone conferences and video conferences

  • Preparing monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reports to Area law leader and senior management team

  • Managing the internal communication team to ensure an effective communication strategy and the full provision of information to them Working with marketing teams to develop country, area and regional law publications, e.g., APAC law slipsheet, EY Law update, etc.

  • Assisting with organising and preparing materials for the Global Law Executives Meeting

  • Assisting with new law partner DAP process in APAC

  • Build EY law practice in Asia-Pacific

  • Understanding the legal positions on setting up law practice in the relevant APAC jurisdictions.

  • Assisting the senior management team with building new law practice throughout the entire process in the targeted jurisdictions, including working with the local/area/global teams to support and complete all relevant due diligence, Q&RM, admission and integration processes.

  • Assisting with managing the risk of regulatory issues faced by some jurisdictions.

  • Participating in regular update with area market and communication team.

  • Closely connecting with the law team in each APAC country by organising and participating in the regular catch up calls/meetings.

  • Be aware of budgets and pipelines in each country and assist the area law leadership with driving the business growth and performance

  • Quality & Risk Management

  • Working closely with law partners and quality team to coordinate and assist with completing law quality reviews in APAC jurisdictions.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong data management/analytical skills

  • Knowledge and ability to leverage EY global structure and resources

  • Ability to translate strategy into tactical execution

  • Team player who can collaborate in a complex and diverse global structure

  • Business acumen needed to work with senior leaders on a global scale

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Degree or equivalent

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • The ability to work across cultures

  • Effective project management skills

  • Work independently

Ideally, you also have

  • Markets and business development experience

  • Tax and professional services background a definite plus

  • Client service or sales experience a plus but not essential

  • Experience with technical publications and development of market collateral
