The Public Relations and Social Media Supervisor has responsibility for developing and implementing region-wide Public Relations and Social Media strategies and initiatives. He/She is the functional expert in public relations, and social media to ensure the right messages are reaching the target audiences via the most appropriate traditional and digital platforms.
The individual works closely with the Brand Communications and Marketing teams to support key business initiatives of the organization and formulate short/long term integrated communications strategies and action plans to proactively drive brand awareness and stakeholder engagement, and support and reinforce the company’s reputation in the marketplace.
The Public Relations and Social Media Supervisor reports to the Public Relations and Social Media Manager.
Work with Corporate, Region, District and Country stakeholders to develop and implement public relations, and social media strategies and programs.
Develop and implement multi-platform communications and messaging strategies.
Brief vendors and agency partners on local business priorities and manage the regional agency to enable them to deliver on committed PR plans, including social media plans; the abilities to write a creative brief, define measurement, analyze performance metrics, synthesize insights and devise potential actions are essential.
Develop PR materials i.e. press releases, messaging documents, Q&As, speeches, presentations and byline articles; and social media content.
Craft messaging in times of issues and crisis management and coordinate approvals through the necessary stakeholders.
Oversee region and country communications budgets; track expenditures against financial targets.
Manage press related events in Asia Pacific Region i.e. press conferences, media briefings, media familiarization trips, executive interviews.
Create, develop and post information on digital and social media platforms, manage online communities, and drive conversations that encourage community interaction
Provide guidance and training to the countries in public relations and social media initiatives.
A degree holder (or its international equivalent) in Public Relations / Communications / Journalism / Marketing.
Minimum three years Corporate Communications / Public Relations / Social / Digital Communications experience, developed either in-house or in an agency environment, with emphasis on B2B communications.
Strong project management, budget management and regional agency management skills.
Excellent English writing skills and impeccable verbal and presentation skills. Candidate must be able to develop and write compelling and creative content and communicate clearly and free of jargon.
Ability to communicate and work with internal and external stakeholders at different levels.
Good level of written and spoken Mandarin or another Asian language is preferred.
Proven experience in public relations and/or social media; candidate must possess a sound awareness of traditional public relations, social media and environments in Asia.
Knowledge of conversations involving the transportation, logistics and shipping industries will be an asset.
Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
