The Digital Video Processing Group in the Programmable Platforms Development Department at Xilinx is searching for a self-starter and motivated engineer to work in the development of video communication products in various video markets, including Broadcast and Networked Video Systems. This is a key position in a growing market for Xilinx, and Will have high visibility and influence in future products in the Broadcast and Professional Video markets. You will be responsible for developing FPGA-based intellectual property hardware using Xilinx FPGAs from conception to implementation to address the needs of customers Transferring digital video via various video interfaces such as HDMI/TS/SDI over multi-Gigabit Ethernet networks using AVB and SMPTE standards.
You should have a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering with more than 7 years’ experience in designing digital logic. Excellent and demonstrated design and development capability of complex digital video systems, including hardware modules and interfaces is required; whilst software driver experience is highly desirable.
Domain knowledge in video broadcast, media over network, general networking systems, video interface connectivity and general video processing is very much appreciated.
In addition, you should have at least 23 years’ experience in designing and implementing FPGA-based signal processing systems, including hardware/software interaction and testing on actual product hardware using video industry test equipment.
Solid understanding & knowledge of EDA design processes, tools, system development, verification and live validation are essential; as is the ability to find innovative solutions for video communication using standard video interfaces and high speed 10G Ethernet networks.
Other technical skill requirements include proficiency in HDL design and verification language/tools (VHDL, Verilog, Synplicity, Modelsim, SystemVerilog,etc.) as well as professional video/network testing equipment for adherence to standards. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The video IP team here is focusing on Video connectivity protocol and relevant IPs. The following skill set ( on top of those general ones mentioned before ) are very much appreciated.
At least a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Computer Engineering

- High speed Video interface protocol
- Knowledge of using GT ( Giga-bit transceiver ) in FPGA.
- Knowledge of designing & using PLL/DLL.
