Role and responsibilities:

Spectroscopy Product Specialist is accountable for both atomic and molecular spectroscopy business and market share growth in the territory of responsibility, working closely with the countries in making sure the country setup, sales coverage, channel competency are adequate to drive the business. Main area of responsibility including:

  • Develop and execute clear and compelling country Spectroscopy business plan

  • Accountable for the market share in the territory of responsibility

  • As an important key stakeholder in driving country integrated solution approach creating the overall value for customer

  • Drive along with sales management team / Channels across the territory to achieve targets and goals. Ensure team alignment with business unit goals and objectives.

  • Train, educate sales, marketing and technical support team members to ensure all are engaged and aligned to deliver the growth plan.

  • Drive operational discipline through funnel quality and accuracy

Important note: This role will require you to travel to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia

Detailed operational activities:

  1. Pre-sale activities
  • Increase the availability of technical advice to customers and colleagues

  • Support sales account manager (AM) and distributors for atomic and molecular spectroscopy products in South Asia Pacific Region

  • Involve in distributor and customer meetings to discuss Spectroscopy techniques and instrument selection to best suit customer application

  • Offer consultation to distributor/customer based on experience working with other labs with these applications

  • Spectroscopy seminars ,user group workshops and presentations

  • Involve in new product releases

  1. During and closing sale
  • Consult with sales account manager &/or distributors about deal strategy and tactics

  • Provide relevant technical info to progress the deal

  • Manage the demo or sample analysis with Application Scientists

  • Assist in closing deal technically

  1. Ongoing Activities
  • Collect and review business data relevant to Spectroscopy such as funnel information, win/loss, competitive pricing, installed base for both Agilent and competitors.

  • Update competitive product information to field and Solution unit

  • Detailed Spectroscopy market study including markets, drivers, growth potential and competition

  • Utilize CRM tool as the platform for business discussion

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or related discipline (Master or PhD is added advantage)

  • Product expertise: High level of experience with atomic and/or molecular spectroscopy; product expertise within varied industries and customer types

  • Industry/Application Expertise: Some level of application knowledge; working knowledge of ICP/MS, ICP/OES, AAS, UV-Vis & FT-IR are key.

  • Commercial/selling skills: Business development experience, strong experience in sales/closing skills

  • Able to formulate sales plans that are consistent with company products and strategy

  • Ability to motivate and positively influence others

  • Ability to effectively communicate on the phone, oral and written communications

  • Work as a team, Wants the team to succeed and actively works to ensure that it happens

  • Advantage if having handling experience in multi-country customers

  • Must be able to travel to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia
