Job Title: Senior/Technical Software Support Specialist
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is currently seeking a Software Technical Specialist to join our team in Singapore. The Software Technical Specialist will provide effective technical support to resolve technical challenges and fulfillment of business process in complex customer platforms to achieve high level of customer satisfaction. This involves gathering detailed requirements from the customer, analyzing with consideration of existing and new changes in customer operation processes, and translate effectively into technical functional & non-functional requirements. This individual will ensure software packages fulfill quality goals before delivering to our customers by ensuring testing coverage is effectively planned and executed.
Responsibilities of the Software Technical Specialist:
Review status and prioritize production issues reported with Project Lead
Analyze client problems using available methodologies and prepare solutions or alternative solutions for discussion with client team or other TGCS functions towards adoption of agreed solution to the client.
Derive / review test cases / test coverage and perform test according to plan on fix pack before delivering to customer
For new requirements from customer, gather detailed requirements from customer, analyze with consideration of existing and new changes in customer operation processes, and translate effectively into technical function l & non-functional requirements.
On-demand travel to provide onsite support at customer location (estimated once every 2 months).
Continuous improvement / change management
Continuously identify areas of improvement / gaps in various aspects: 1. Delivering dedicated and effective support 2. Solution implementation / deployment Quality of software and services
Take initiative to propose recommendation / suggestion on improvement areas and participate in agreed improvement action items.
Active participation in innovation initiatives
Strategic and tactical
Recognizes customer opportunities for services/hardware/software and proposes and carries out the appropriate services which can contribute to a customer business with close collaboration with sales tem.
Provides expert guidance in the areas of availability service to customer project teams.
Develop positive relationships / rapport with customer project teams to ensure a high level of overall customer satisfaction
IT / Computer Science / Software engineering or related degree - University Bachelor's degree
3+ years Software development, testing and support working experience & client facing experience
Retail domain knowledge: store operation, POS software functionality knowledge and integration knowledge with backend ERP systems
Software technical support, software quality assurance and testing methodologies
Strong software implementation experience with retail customers
Must possess technical problem solving skills
Ability to understand customer operations and have a clear understanding of technical issues
Excellence Problem solving skills => Resourceful & Result Oriented
Effective Written and Verbal Communication skills to articulate problems clearly and specific solution appropriately
Strong customer-facing experience
Ability to ask the right questions to capture the key requirements & software information from the customer.
Strong knowledge with software quality assurance
