The Deal Structurer brings together derivative sales with focus on developing portfolio deals with innovative pricing solutions, such as structured trades, embedded physical deals and other bundled hydrocarbon offerings.The Deal Structurer will be based in Singapore and work closely with the Derivatives and Options traders, who provide the market-making service to cover the risks generated from the trades.To do the job well, the Deal Structurer needs to have a sound market knowledge base and strong relationship skills to develop value propositions relevant to the client, whilst ensuring efficient management of RDS’s credit and capital resources.As a price risk management subject-matter-expert, the Deal Structurer is expected to demonstrate strong leadership especially in empowering colleagues in identifying and creating exposures, coming up with ingenious ways of mitigating/monetising the risks.
The Deal Structurer will be expected to:
Build productive and strong relationships with both internal and external clients, originate new business opportunities and execute deals
Professionally articulate and market innovative risk management solutions that are relevant to the client, effectively communicating the merits and risks of the designed solution, while taking due account of all financial risks - market, credit, cash flow, regulations and reputation
Work closely with T&S and other Downstream businesses
Negotiate commercial price risk management agreements, which may involve trade/structure finance products and embedded options
Actively work across a wider deal team community, collaborating with Traders, Options, M&A, Business Development teams, Finance, Legal, Technical Accounting, Contracts, Credit, Tax and Back Office
Proactively keep abreast with regulatory and market changes
High level of commerciality, numeracy and drive to succeed
Ability to synthesize information and drive initiatives
Experience in managing and/or trading pricing risks and options
Strong work ethic and rigorous approach to compliance
Willingness, ability and proven track record of innovation in previous roles
Strong communication, collaboration and team working skills
A business developer with a good grounding in trade finance
Strong interpersonal skills and balanced self-confidence
Independence, self-starting attitude with ability to reset when required
