Job Purpose:

To lead the GCB Revenue and Balance Sheet Team, part of the Asia Regional Franchise team covering Asia GCB related topics.

The GCB Revenue and Balance Sheet team lead will play a central role in coordinating for key Citi deliverables, including key Forward Looking and Performance Management deliverables across the Asia Consumer Businesses including but not limited to:

  • Analysis and review of financial performance, especially drivers, trends, and the competitive environment, to enhance understanding thereof on the part of management, regulators and shareholders

  • Insightful analysis as the foundation for strategic decision-making, resource allocation and performance management

  • Tools, analytical capability and data to support thoughtful planning and target setting, as well as to drive business initiatives

  • The means by which the businesses both implement and measure the impact of those decisions and targets, and identify and implement course corrections

The team will work with other Regional and Country Consumer FP&A teams to develop standard and centralized analytics for GBC and its different businesses, helping senior management within Finance and the business in interpreting business performance against targets and business dynamics given macroeconomic and markets factors.

Job Background/Context:

Asia Franchise is comprised of five main businesses, as follows:

  • Global Consumer Bank serves clients needs through its branch and digital network across 17 markets in Asia including EMEA. These clients are spread across various geographies in various target markets segments, using Citi’s products ranging from Credit Cards, Personal Loans, Mortgages, Investment and Insurance as well as Commercial lending

  • Markets and Securities Services serves client needs for underwriting, sales and trading, distribution, research and analysis across various asset classes and currencies, sectors and industries, covering a vast array of products and leveraging trading floors located in over 80 countries

  • Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) provides an integrated suite of cash management and trade finance services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations across the globe. It has the industry's largest proprietary network with banking licenses in over 100 countries and globally integrated technology platforms

  • Corporate and Investment Banking focuses on financial advisory and raising capital. It is organized in M&A, Equity and Debt origination, financing solutions, and Corporate Bankers who deliver Corporate Banking/Finance services to global, regional and local clients operating in multiple locations around the world

  • The Private Bank targets Ultra High Net Worth individuals offering traditional and sophisticated Banking, Investment, Trust and Advisory services through closely managed relationships

  • This role is part of the Asia Regional Franchise FP&A which covers all aspects of the Citi Franchise including: Products, Geographies, Clients, Functions and O&T. The Asia Regional Franchise FP&A team is part of the broader Asia FP&A team and responsible for all FP&A activities that are specific to businesses in the Asia ex Japan region

  • The key stakeholders are the Asia Regional Finance Seniors (CFO, FP&A), and the Asia Regional Business Heads,

  • The role will work in close partnership with other FP&A teams, the Mumbai CSC and Country CFO’s/FP&A teams to deliver results

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the establishment of the new GCB Revenue and Balance Sheet FP&A team

  • Manage and drive significant change across multiple locations

  • Transition from the current structure to the new structure with centralization of common FP&A activities

  • Aligning the interaction model for APAC GCB P&A activities in the Mumbai CS

  • Seeking to automate and simplify FP&A processes

  • Lead the delivery of GCB FP&A activities that are common across businesses for Revenue and Balance Sheet analytics

  • Developing and implementing effective support models for the FP&A Business Partners

  • Standardizing and centralizing key forecasting and performance management processes including but not limited to Standard Management Reporting, Outlook, Planning, Mid Year Forecast etc.

  • Effective collaborating with other Revenue, Expense, and Long-term Planning Workstreams

  • Lead strategic analysis for Business Support and Performance Measurement

  • Proactively analyzing, investigating, explaining, and escalating key movements and trends to Senior Management and FP&A Business Partners

  • Providing periodic updates to CEO/CFO on market and competitive environment assessment including macroeconomic/environment assessment, competitive benchmarking, market share /wallet analysis, and trend analysis

  • Developing and coordinating performance measurement information for businesses, leveraging Insight and driving enhancements as required

  • Strengthening comprehensive balance sheet analysis. Prudently optimizing the resource allocation to enhance return

  • Closely monitoring and tracking technology and infrastructure development. Measuring the corresponding scaling of capabilities and enhancement of efficiencies

  • Identifying local growth areas and opportunities by benchmarking global growth strategies. Leveraging global capabilities to drive local advantages

  • Coordination and preparation of presentation material and talking points for internal or external meetings including but not limited to Earnings, CEO and CFO reviews, Plan Reviews

  • Support the APAC Strategy team in developing management information materials for Senior Management

  • Develop deep understanding of Asia GCB and utilize the knowledge to consolidate and simplify key FP&A processes

  • Promote business/product trainings across workstream teams to enhance knowledge sharing and adoption of best practice

  • Proactively engaging and interfacing across Businesses, Finance, and other relevant functional departments to leverage information and streamline processes to drive performance

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Citi businesses, particularly GCB

  • Prior experience of working within FP&A or similar function

  • Working in a Finance role with multiple stakeholders and in an organisation with a matrix management structure

  • Experienced people manager

Qualifications:

  • Strong financial accounting background with post qualification experience

  • Familiarity with Financial Services Industry and/or related business products would be desirable but not essential
