Within our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department we would like to welcome an enthusiastic Group Category Manager responsible for indirect / Non Product Related (NPR) procurement in Asia. The Group Category Manager is a challenging Procurement position reflecting the dynamics of ASML with a leadership responsibility and frequent exposure to Senior Management. The Asian procurement team is responsible for sourcing, managing supplier relationships and contracting indirect goods & services for all local procurement categories and contributes to the global procurement categories. The team consists of procurement professionals with a can-do mentality and capable of building bridges with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The Group Category manager responsible for NPR procurement in Asia and the development of the team. The Group Category manager is preferably posted in Taiwan and reports to the head of NPR Procurement within the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department.

Job Mission

The Group Category Manager is responsible for the organizational set up and redesign of the Asian NPR organization to enable ASML’s growth, strategy implementation and further strengthening and developing of ASML’s Asian Procurement team. He or she acts as a strong leader and assures the setup and realization of strategic, tactical and operational goals.

Job Description

The Group Category Manager NPR Asia:

  • Redesigns the Asian NPR organisation to enable ASML’s growth.

  • Helps to develop, communicate and implement the NPR procurement strategy, vision and mission and drives change.

  • Has extraordinary people leadership and management skills

  • Develops sourcing strategies and builds and maintains long term relationships with suppliers.

  • Uses subject matter expertise and market knowledge to shape the stakeholders demand.

  • Drives cost optimization, by leverage global buying power, entering long term agreements and contract consolidation

  • Drives, executes and leads negotiations for strategic deals.

  • Interacts with internal stakeholders in all levels within the organization.

  • Fluently speaks Mandarin and lives in Asia.

  • Is willing to travel frequently.


Master-degree in a relevant area (e.g. Business Economics, Business Administration, Technology Management) combined with Procurement related courses

  • Seasoned professional with over 10 years of work experience in a professional, complex and international environment.

  • Experience in leadership and development of procurement professionals.

  • Team player with proven ability to successfully manage complex multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Experienced and strong negotiator.

  • Preference to have experience in change management and leading a cross regional team.

Context of the position

As a large-scale system integrator, ASML focuses on extensive outsourcing and integration of its supply chain. Approximately 90% of the manufacturing cost price is accounted for by purchased goods. Therefore, high level flexibility must be built into the supplier network. The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Department creates, maintains and qualifies this global network and is responsible for all suppliers interaction. This enables the execution of the ASML Development, Production and Customer Support plans and operates according to the principles of Value Sourcing. You will be working within the NPR Procurement department and report to the head of NPR Procurement.
