Licensing Senior Director - JAPAC - Software Investment Advisory

The business will focus on developing and executing a

consultative services strategy to help Oracle customers maximize the value from

their Oracle investments.


Responsible for the definition and delivery of the strategic

and tactical enablement of the newly formed Software Investment Advisory group

to execute its core services; while ensuring productivity and value contribution

to Oracle’s business.


  • Reportsto the global leader for the Software Investment Advisory business unit

  • Managesa division in Software Investment Advisory’s Global organization

  • Worksas a key member of the leadership team

  • Workswith other relevant LOB’s Senior Management and VP’s, customers / partnersexecutives as relevant


  • Definesstrategy for the assigned division, defining the business plan, objectives andKPI’s

  • Leads,guides and evaluates the work of the managers and individual contributors inthe team

  • Initiatesmajor change programs which influence the way the organization views itself andthe way it does business in alignment with Oracle’s strategic direction

  • Buildsstrong and crucial relationship internally and externally and acts as afacilitator for the flawless execution of Software Investment Advisory’s services

  • Owns the success of the division's overall strategic goals and contributesto the development and profitability requirements of the business as determinedby the strategic plans

  • Establishesshort-term and long-term goals in line with corporate objectives

  • Buildexecutive presentations

  • Positionthe team to grow successfully beyond its current targets, increasing the resultof the team year on year

  • Operatesin line with Oracle’s processes/procedures & core values

  • Responsiblefor managing the Strategy for your specific division, involving recruiting,on-boarding, performance and people management


  • University degree or equivalent combination ofstudies and experience in Computer Science or business management

  • Thirdlevel qualification (Degree/MBA/Other) will be an advantage but related seniormanagement experience may be substituted

  • Typically 10 years’ experience in a customer-facingrole in the technology industry: consulting, account management, softwarelicensing, value engineering or customer success with at least 5 years’experience in people management.


  • Understanding of IT technical architectures andaffinity with technical matters

  • Domain expertise in software licensing andpricing across both On-Premise and Cloud

  • Entrepreneurial leader with a proven trackrecord of successfully growing result through implementing strategy, process anddirection

  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability todrive strategic and complex projects

  • Demonstrated ability to manage across regionalgeographies, drive actions and achieve results

  • Ability to effectively address and achieveresults with key strategic decisions makers

  • Able to think strategically and to be able totranslate this into tactical actions

  • High level of dynamism, drive, and energy - teamplayer

  • Strong commitment to both a high quality of workand service to customers

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships withthe highest levels both internally and externally

  • Ability to influence C level stakeholders inorder to gain credibility quickly, inspire trust and confidence

  • Fluent in English, other languages dependent onthe market / region

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Directs people in, and develops the strategy for, the delivery of license advisory services while ensuring productivity, revenue and value contribution to Oracle's business. Implements, directs, and monitors policies, procedures, and standards.

Leads the line-of-business activities for a region or for an assigned territory. Creates short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters. Visualizes how work evolves in order to prepare strategy and team members for future state. Establishes and measures goals and team performance against specific target objectives.

University degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Ability to take a big picture view to think and act strategically. Typically 12 years of professional experience with at least 5-8 years of relevant experience
