The Solution Engineering Manager for SAP Hybris SEA, is responsible for leading the Solution Engineering team for SAP Hybris in the South-East Asia Market Unit by developing 1) solution team talent, 2) thought leadership on creative & cost-effective solution team support, and 3) deployment of Solution Engineers to influence customers & prospects to select SAP software. The role reports to the Regional Head of Solution Engineering for SAP Hybris APJ.


  • Partner with the sales organization to ensure all sales priorities are fully supported with the highest level of quality.

  • Based on the presales GTM at both the line-of-business level and market unit level, deploy and execute the GTM for his/her team.

  • Execute on operational excellence to ensure efficient and consistent resourcing as per sales franchise.

  • Deliver and contribute to global/regional initiatives for the Hybris Solution Engineering Team to drive business success

  • Partner with the GCO Presales, Industry, COE, partner & services teams to ensure wider resourcing and execution is agreed and streamlined e.g. cross-solution support, account planning, demand management, demo infrastructure.

  • Execute a cohesive enablement plan with both short-term and long-term objectives.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team.

  • Speak at customer and partner events, internal sales forums, press & media events.

Essential Job Functions

  • Proven experience leading revenue enabling solution teams in a matrix structure.

  • Deep understanding and experience of sales methodology and the pre-sales role, specifically with SAP experience of Sales Franchise.

  • Strong consultative & innovation selling experience e.g. challenger selling methodology.

  • Proven track record of Leadership Trust & Employee Engagement.

  • Strong business development experience to support pipeline and demand management plans in collaboration with sales teams.

  • Solid understanding of SAP Hybris’ strategy and solution proposition, able to articulate in large forums internally & externally, leading-by-example on how we “visualize” our solutions to customers.

  • Facilitate a presales community that shares best practices and shares knowledge e.g. solutions, competitive, soft skills etc.



  • Communicates and writes in a clear and precise way

  • Excellent presentation skills and interaction with customers on all level of the business

  • Ability to understand customers’ business, needs, challenges and expectations

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent

  • 10 years of relevant IT solution support e.g. pre-sales, architecture, delivery or professional services experience

  • 5 years of personnel management experience

  • 5 presales support experience

  • Experience leading architecture teams, appropriate knowledge of methodologies and technology

  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrix / multi-level management structure

  • Proven experience building diverse teams, highly inclusive leadership style

  • Experience with SAP Hybris solutions or equivalent competitive solutions
