Position

The incumbent is responsible to work cross functionally to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions that will optimize the overall category while reducing total costs.

Be a central point of expertise and knowledge for assigned categories. Develop and consistently execute category strategies with category owners. Analyze category markets and assess risk, gathering intelligence on fundamental conditions and technical information that affects the commodity. Develop sourcing strategies and category management strategies based on market intelligence gathered. Oversee RFI, RFP contract development, review processes, and utilize appropriate support tools to enhance sustainable results. Negotiate and manage key supplier relationships and global supply contracts. Maintain regular contact with current suppliers and resolve ongoing issues as needed. Maintain current status of all category contracts and agreements on a continuous basis Lead cross functional team / Interact cross-functional with all other departments at DFS and serve as an effective and value added service for the entire organization. Promote continuous improvement/cost reductions on a regular and proactive basis. Monitor category purchasing reports and ensure compliance with appropriate established policies and procedures on a continuous basis. Identify and implement streamlined category purchasing processes and supporting tools. Guide and coach procurement staff on Procurement best practices. Communicate results to VP Group Procurement and seek upper management support when necessary. Communicate and coordinate all activities necessary for the implementation of global, divisional and localized contracts. Manage sourcing technology activities such as, but not limited to: reverse auctions, bid system templates, E-platform development, etc. Manage suppliers and incorporate the resources of vendors to drive standards. Monitors performance of supplier (s) against agreed performance criteria.

Profile

Min. 4 years procurement experience in Asia Pacific Role Diversified background with exposure to and/or experience in freight operations and negotiations, distribution networks and channels, ecommerce distributions, etc. Strong command of vendor performance management and contract administration Experience with high-value, high-volume purchasing and contract negotiation experience preferable in retail industry Experience with developing and implementing successful cost saving initiatives Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with keen understanding of relevant cost drivers Demonstrated project management experience Demonstrated ability to lead teams in achieving or beating challenging goals Demonstrated ability to manage, develop and coach others Excellent oral and written communication skills Procurement systems knowledge is a plus Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Macros and SQL a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Supply Chain or Business
